My last few days in the U.S.

I am starting to get so excited!!! Today I started and finished packing my bags for Mexico. Let me tell you something....packing for 12 weeks in two 50 lbs. bags is no easy task! I was quite impressed with the fact that I managed to pack all that I thought I would need in two bags weighing 49.2 lbs each. Guess I cut it kinda close.
On Thursday mom, dad, and I are heading to Nebraska to see family and on Sunday I will fly out of Omaha. It will be a long day of traveling, but by the end of the day I will arrive in Mexico City and head to Cuernavaca to meet my family.
I have been in contact with the director of the school, Leticia, and I have received the information on my home stay family!!! I will be staying with the Zamora family. They live within 5 minutes of the school, which is nice because I can walk to and from school easily. The wife is a teacher and her husband in an engineer. They have two daughters around my age who are both married, one of which lives in Spain. They have two grand kids and one of them tends to spend a lot of time at their house. The Zamora's also own a small store were they sell Mexican arts and crafts. I will have a roommate but I don't know who she is yet.
The director of the school, Leticia, is best friends with this family and every week they get together for a Bible study. I'm so glad to be with a Christian family and I have been invited to join them in their Bible studies.
That's all for now and I'm counting down the days till my adventure officially begins!!

Getting ready to head to Mexico

My days are currently filled with many smalls tasks on very long lists. I can't wait to be done with all of the monotonous details of preparing to travel to a foreign country for an extended period of time. I am so glad that my parents are so willing to help me with the little things that need to be done. There are so many things to do that I never would have thought about. I am so excited to get to Mexico, but I am also very nervous. Keep me in your prayers as I embark on this once in a lifetime adventure!!
